Tom Gasek is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Film and Animation at The Rochester Institute of Technology. He teaches courses in Stop Motion, Acting for Animation, Animation Pre-Production, The Business of Animation and Alternative Frame by Frame techniques.

He has taught workshops and given lectures at Harvard,
The School of Visual Arts, Rhode Island School of Design,
Skidmore, The Art Insitute of Boston, Siggraph (Los Angeles)
and numerous other venues. He created special studies
programs in Bristol, England and New York City.

Tom has written several articles exploring aesthetic issues and the craft of stop motion filmmaking. He authored a book for Focal Press called “Frame by Frame Stop Motion: The Guide to Non-Traditional Animation Techniques” 2011.
